Dina Ibrahim, professor of Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts, appeared on the April episode of the CSU’s “Higher Ed Rewired” podcast. The episode explores the growth of esports at the college level, and Ibrahim discusses her “Live Streaming and Content Creation for Esports” course and the Gaming Gators esports club.

She first taught the course in fall 2019, and her students have moved on to careers in the booming esports industry.

“I know that younger eyeballs are shifting away from traditional sports and into esports,” said Ibrahim, who is adviser to the Gaming Gators as well as executive director of the CSU Entertainment Alliance. “So I wanted to create a class that basically encouraged talent to create their own live streams on Twitch.”
