Students can take advantage of the many resources available through the Department of Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts (BECA).
Our studios are full television studio facilities, complete with a counterweight grid systems, control booths and multi camera set ups. Studios are teaching spaces, but may be used by students for student projects and organizations with departmental approval.
We have audio recording spaces with editing labs. KSFS Radio is a fully functional radio station, featuring booths for streaming and mixing as well as a podcasting booth.
The Video Editing Lab supports all software primarily used by the department including the Adobe Creative Suite, ProTools and Final Cut Pro.
Equipped with the latest Adobe and other software to help BECA students create professional, cutting-edge work for their classes and reels. The library hours even accommodate students during evenings and weekends.
For Fall 2024 Semester
Students must make a reservation to use a lab space.
Reservation requests are reviewed 9:15am-noon and 1:15pm-5:00pm Monday-Friday ONLY. If your reservation request is submitted over the weekend, it will not be seen until Monday.
If you make multiple reservations for the same day, without canceling any, only the most recent request will be reviewed--all others will be denied.
Please cancel any and all reservations that you will not be able to use as the labs are in high demand and are used by multiple people daily (in Fall 2023 364 reservations were made through this process; please be considerate of your classmates).
