Biography

Hamid Khani has extensive experience in the industry as a media producer director and communication consultant and is an award-winning producer.

Hamid Khani, Professor of Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts at San Francisco State University, is an accomplished media producer-director, educational consultant and curriculum designer.

Professor Khani teaches Media Aesthetics, a foundation course for BECA majors, Advanced Video Production Social Advertising, Creativity and Problem Solving and Seminar in Media Aesthetics, a graduate level course. Professor Khani also has taught a wide range of other course courses on video/television theory and production at SF State for near 25 years.

Professor Khani has extensive experience in the industry as a media producer director and communication consultant and is an award-winning producer. For almost 25 years, Professor Khani has worked with an array of communities, government agencies and nonprofit groups to design, produce and direct media projects. Dr. Khani has produced and directed public service announcements, videos and documentaries covering topics ranging from science education to media literacy.

In 2004-2006 with the invitation from the American University in Dubai (AUD) and as a visiting professor and New Program Development Director Professor Khani designed and implemented two programs for the AUD's Communication and Information Studies. He currently is involved in developing collaborations among higher education institutions to promote cultural dialog and understanding.
