Are you a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony fan who gets annoyed by the lack of Bone’s music that is played on mainstream radio? Are you constantly fighting the urge to throw your radio outside the window, because of the same and boring around-the-clock music? Have you ever dreamt of Bone having its own radio show in some capacity? Are you one of these people? Well, you need not wait any longer, for it has come to fruition – not in a mainstream fashion but in an unconventional fashion. Thanks to San Francisco State University, KSFS Radio presents the “Bone Thug Radio Hour” via the Internet, hosted by Jesse Tavares – created and dedicated specially for the music of legendary hip hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The show debuted live on September 16, 2009 and has continued its weekly broadcast ever since. The show goes live every Wednesday night at 10:00-11:00 PM (Pacific Standard Time), which translates to 1:00-2:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time) Thursday morning. The “Bone Thug Radio Hour” does not only play Bone’s music but also their affiliates such as Mo Thugs, ThugLine, and 7th Sign. Host Jesse Tavares, through telephone, also takes time to interview former and current Bone affiliates. Thus far, he has interviewed HC The Chemist, Mo Thugs Records’ affiliate; Bino, Mo Thugs Records’ affiliate; Bruce Hatchcock, former affiliate; Big Caz, former Mo Thugs Records’ affiliate; T-1, Mo Thug West’s affiliate; and DJ Dre Ghost, Mo Thugs Records’ affiliate. The show is entertaining and free to all. The host even holds contests and gives away official Bone merchandise. More important, the music that is played comes from the requests of the listeners via this number: 415-338-1532. Thus, if you are a Bone fan and want to get your late night (or early morning) Bone fix, tune in and request a song. If you are brazen enough, Jesse may even allow you to showcase your talent (or lack thereof) with a freestyle or a song. Once again, the show starts at 10 PM (PST) in San Francisco, California, so if you consider tuning in – determine your time zone to find out when it comes on. For example, if one lives in Miami, Florida, the show starts at 1 AM (EST) Thursday morning. Unfortunately, the “Bone Thug Radio Hour” is scheduled to end on December 30, 2009. No information is known if the show will return in 2010. Overseen by Faculty Advisor Jeff Jacoby, KSFS Radio is operated by students of the Department of Broadcast and Electronic Communications Arts at San Francisco State University. The station broadcasts a variety of shows, so if you are not too fond of Bone’s music, tune in to the station’s other shows.
