The BECA 1000 campaign was launched on February 27th at the SF State University Downtown Campus – check out the photos.

We hope you received your invitation to the BECA alumni lunch on February 27th to be held at SF State’s downtown campus at 835 Market Street on the 6th floor (11.30am – 1pm). Herb Zettl, Stuart Hyde and Phil Kipper will be among the guests who will gather to help the department launch a major new initiative to re-engage alumni and former faculty in the future success of the department. Our goal is to have 1000 alumni give $1000 each over the next three years to help BECA maintain its tradition of excellent, affordable training.

The editing lab in CA 200 is open for students with signed CA 200 Account Requests on file. You must be approved by a BECA faculty member to use the editing facilities. You may obtain an Account Request form in CA 200.

Mon – Thurs 9am – 9pm
Fridays 9-5
Lab closed during Spring Break.
Lab reopens 4/1 with extended weekend hours Sat & Sun 10-6 for the remainder of the semester.

Edit Lab Workshops begin this week!

Students and alums are invited to attend the Media Career Symposium entitled New Media, New Careers: Reflections on the Art of Success on Tuesday, February 26 from 4 pm - 6pm in Jack Adams Hall. Panel discussions will include internships, graduate success stories and keynote speakers. The Symposium is sponsored by the BECA Department, College Students in Broadcasting(CSB) and the Career Center.

BECA tours are now available: the last Thursday of every month, 12-12:45pm, outside the main BECA office, CA 133.

Next tour: Thursday 28th February 12-12:45pm.

Want to see in person what BECA has to offer? Tours of the facilities are now available! Starting from outside the main BECA office, tours provide information about studying in the BECA program and visit key areas, including KSFS, the BECA radio station; video and sound editing laboratories; television studio facilities; and more.

There are plenty of internships available...if you want to intern this semester take the initiative and apply! Check the Internship Binder (in CA 133) or check out the fliers posted by Dr. Camacho's office. Please note that this class will be closed on February 13th.

The BECA Writing Lab will be open to your students as of Monday,
February 4th. As usual, the lab is located downstairs at CA 31. The
hours for the spring 2008 semester are:

Mondays 12:00 to 1:00PM
Tuesdays 1:00 to 2:00PM
Wednesdays 12:00 to 2:00PM
Thursdays 12:00 to 1:00PM

Writing help is on a "first-come/first-serve" basis.
