Camacho talks about "soccer moms"
In a recent article in the New Jersey Star-Ledger by Carrie Stetler, Associate Professor Melissa Camacho offers some insight on the entertainment industry's current portrayals of women as "soccer moms".
"These are women who are either balancing jobs and children or who have left a job to stay home. They're older than moms of the past; they have educations and career aspirations they gave up. Or they have to do it all at once, " says Camacho. "They're a generation of women who made tough choices. And they have to struggle with that every day."
