The BECA Editing Lab is Open!
The editing lab in CA 200 is open for students with signed CA 200 Account Requests on file. You must be approved by a BECA faculty member to use the editing facilities. You may obtain an Account Request form in CA 200.
Editing Lab Hours (2/11 – 3/21)
Mon – Thurs 9am – 9pm
Fridays 9-5
Lab closed during Spring Break.
Lab reopens 4/1 with extended weekend hours Sat & Sun 10-6 for the remainder of the semester.
Edit Lab Workshops begin this week!
Jen Vaughn will be hosting a series of editing workshops in the BECA editing lab open for BECA students & faculty to attend. Workshops will occur at varying times, and will last for approximately 30 minutes. Workshops start with the basics of Final Cut Pro and will be ramping up fast, so be sure to catch the first few if you are a beginner! Experienced editors and guest lecturers are lined up for advanced workshops covering FCP effects, DVD Authoring, After Effects, Motion and more! Due to limited space, workshops can only accommodate the first 25 people to sign up (you may sign up at the edit lab check in desk 15 minutes before each workshop begins).
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
101 – File Management: Covers FCP basics: how to capture media, move clips into a sequence, and print to tape. Learn how to manage your files and media, and move them around using FCP Media Manager.

102 – Trouble shooting: Why can’t I see my video? Where is my audio? Why can’t I print to tape? Learn the answers to these common problems and more!

103 – FCP Effects: Learn the basics of video & text generators, color correction, motion key framing, Chroma keying, and much more!
