Professor Larry Whitney Retires
Larry Whitney has been a member of the BECA faculty for over 25 years. In addition to teaching studio and advanced directing and editing, Larry has also taught various versions of the aesthetics class. During his time at SFSU, Larry has also had his writings published, and he authored a motion picture. Larry has always been ready to work with the students to improve and polish their writing and production skills. As a colleague, Larry has always brought a ray of light into boring meetings and been available to work for the advancement of the rest of us. We, his colleagues will miss him and his wit, but we know he will continue his writings and his travels in retirement. So, if you see him along the road of life, expect a hearty and convivial greeting. If you are lucky, you might even get to spend some time with him. Thank you Larry for being the kind of professional educator and colleague who has made the lives of all he has met a little brighter and better.--Rick Houlberg
